Slice and Bake Chocolate Chip Cookies

Makes 12 Dozen Cookies
This is a great recipe that I have used for years. You can bake cookies now and freeze part of the dough and make cookies later.

Yield: 12 Dozen Cookies

Ingredients:

• 3 cups plus 1/4 cup plus 2 TBSP unsifted flour
• 1½ tsp baking soda
• 1½ tsp salt
• 1½ cups butter, softened
• 1 cup plus 2 TBSP sugar
• 1 cup plus 2 TBSP brown sugar
• 1½ tsp vanilla extract
• 3 eggs
• 3 cups(18 oz) Semi-sweet chocolate chips
• 1½ chopped nuts

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
2. Combine flour, soda and salt on waxed paper.
3. Combine butter, sugar, vanilla and beat until creamy.
4. Add eggs.
5. Gradually add flour mixture.
6. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
7. Divide dough into halves and wrap 1/2 in waxed paper and freeze.
8. To make 6 dozen cookies: Drop rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
9. Bake 8-10 minutes.
