Slice and Bake Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is a great recipe that I have used for years. You can bake cookies now and freeze part of the dough and make cookies later. |
Yield: 12 Dozen Cookies
Ingredients:
- 3 cups plus 1/4 cup plus 2 TBSP unsifted flour
- 1½ tsp baking soda
- 1½ tsp salt
- 1½ cups butter, softened
- 1 cup plus 2 TBSP sugar
- 1 cup plus 2 TBSP brown sugar
- 1½ tsp vanilla extract
- 3 eggs
- 3 cups(18 oz) Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1½ chopped nuts
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Combine flour, soda and salt on waxed paper.
- Combine butter, sugar, vanilla and beat until creamy.
- Add eggs.
- Gradually add flour mixture.
- Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
- Divide dough into halves and wrap 1/2 in waxed paper and freeze.
- To make 6 dozen cookies: Drop rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake 8-10 minutes.
